Handy-Gun II scope base question
« on: June 26, 2005, 10:47:10 AM »
I recently aquires an H&R Handy-Gun II, in .22 Hornet . The gun is probably from the early 1980's, it's serial number is AY5805xx. It is also  marked Model 258. I need a scope mount for it, will the scope mount for the newer Handi-Rifles fit it ?

Welcome aboard, Bulletslap! Assuming the barrel has 3 mount holes, the rear 2 are on a 1" center, the forward hole is 1.3" ahead of the middle hole. A Weaver #82 one piece base should fit it, if it doesn't the factory rail won't either. The Weaver mount catalog doesn't show the model 258, FWIW, I just looked.

Thank you for the good advice and the welcome quickdtoo. Those are the hole spacing measurements I have.

Y'all have a nice little forum here, and I am happy to be here.

Welcome to the GBO forum! The weaver # 82 Or H&R /NEF scope base will fit. I like Factory bases better because they have more cross
slots ( 5 I think ) Give more leeway moumting scope. Marv.
