We had a darn good time at the Stone river Hunter Education Center ( big name for a gun range) except for the poor guy next to us with a T.C. in a 700 mag. I do belive he was a little recoil shy :wink: . We were there mostly to burn a lot powder and do a lot of BSing and did a fine job of both 8) . After Tommyy101 got hold of my hornet I do belive he mit be in the market for one :-) . We all had a good time with our handies but I am so tired I don't hardly remember what we shot. 8)

You know, Paul, I believe that guy was a little gun shy at that :) Yes, we had a darn tootin' good time. I really enjoyed meeting Dennis. Yo, Dennis get you a new ranger, I know you want one! :mrgreen: I dearly loved the black powder rounds Paul made up for me.(45-70). They were a hoot to shoot. I could not believe that there is so much difference in different rounds (Rem. & Win.)My 45-70 and my 30-30 love the coreloks, but that 223 didn't like them at all. :roll: I guess these handis have a mind of there own.  :shock:  The winnnys were dead on, and I thought I'd see how much difference there would be. I was lucky the Rem. got on the paper :eek: Yes there is a 22 hornet that is going to get into my collection before long! Paul's hornet was a dream to shoot. I will say one thing TC doesn't have nothing on these handis. That guy with the TC paid 270.00 for the barrel and I thought what a waste. I could get 2 barrels and some other stuff for that money. To each their own! I also liked the mannlicher forearm Paul had on the hornet :grin:  Going to have to get together again soon.

You know I almost for got the reason I bought the hornet besides letting Tommy try it out was to see what the Mannlicher stock would do to the point of aim and the group, I don't think I could tell any difference. Do belive I will leave it on there.

My 45-70 didn't shoot as good with the mannlicher forend as it did with the pallet wood forend, so I did a little sanding and then placed a piece of refrigerator magnet sheet in the barrel channel about 4" from the muzzle, it then shot as good if not better than it did before the change. 1½" groups at 100yds with a peep sight. :wink:

Tommy01;

I really enjoyed meeting you too.
Had a BLAST  :roll:  shooting at the range also.
Yeah, I'd like to have a new Ranger but just gonna have to wait a while.
That one you have, SURE is SHARP!  :shock:
But if I have to, I'll drive the 96 F-150 4X4 out to Oklahoma next year.
It's just got 94,000 miles on it. And with that 300 six cylinder she should have over 100,000 more to go.  :lol: The only thing is it don't have cruise control.

Paul;

Thanks for the great time, and I still want to shoot at the 200yd. range. That's a really nice range for sure. Good people also.
