I am shooting the Lee 200rn gc in a .303 Savage, easily getting 2000fps, good accuracy and no leading with either liquid alox or LBT soft blue lube.
I have just got a .308 barrel for my handi and am just starting the 200 tests in it. So far, IMR 4198 and Reloder7 are giving the best results.
Lee 2nd ed. shows H 380 doing well, 36gr gives 2000fps and this is far from a max load., Varget will do 2000 fps with 33gr, again . less than max by quite a bit. 32gr H 4895 shows 2000fps with 32gr.
, again , less tham max. All these are with a 200gr gc bullet.
I have found any load for a jacketed bullet will be safe in the same load with a cast bullet, usually will not give as much velocity as the jacketed bullet has more resistance and developes more back pressure, so the powder charge developes a higher peak pressure.
To get the same velocity, a faster powder has to be used.
You must try these for your self, and be careful.
