I bought that rifle just to get the action and stocks, which I set back to get a 357 barrel. By the time I got it, I had already given up on that caliber, so never even put a round through it. The first two Handi 243 barrel's I owned and shot. They both were Ultras. The only weight bullet I was trying was factory 100 grains, because I was trying for a deer load. I tried both Winchester and Federal, and those two seemed to perfer the Winchesters. Only problem, with both, was two would look good, and the third would be way out, up to 4 inches. Wasn't always the third round. And never went the same direction. I switched scopes, stocks, actions and bedding set-ups. Finally gave up on them. And at least 3 out of 20 would stick in the chamber. Yes, I tryed all the fussing tricks the forun routinely mentions. Then I found a Ultra 7x57, and lost all interest in another 243. A large numger of forum members have good luck with 243s, and I'm happy for them. I just lost interest. My Remington 243 continues to shoot very well.
