Modifying a Remy 673 to accept a magazine
« on: July 04, 2005, 02:49:07 AM »
Anyone know if this is possible?

I'd like to own a 673 in Remy 350, but I'd also like to have a BDL like magazine on it.  I don't know if the 350 would fit into any of the BDL mag's.

Thanks,

Firstly I'm assuming your speaking of a detachable box magazine... If so the problem won't be getting the round to fit a magazine but getting the magazine for the rifle.  The problem will likely be the action screw spacing..  A magazine for a 300 WinchesterMagnum magazine will feed and function the 350 round..  The stock will require modification to get the hardware for the DBM to clear and function, but it wouldn't be difficult..

Yes a detachable magazine,

I hadn't thought about a model 7 detachable mag floor plate that much.

I don't know which model would work but the entire bottom metal of the 673 will have to be replaced if a DBM is to be installed..  Call remington and ask about action screw spacing.
