Simmons 3-9x-50?
« on: July 04, 2005, 03:10:51 PM »
How are Simmons scopes these days?A friend is considering a 3x-9x50mm for his 1917 Enfield[30/06]. Supposedly it's only $40 at a discounter.
How are their optics and reliability?
Thanks.

For $40.00, i hope you don't expect much. I think Simmons are not that good of a scope. I have used a few a long time ago and they ended up in the trash.

You would probably be better off with Simmons high end lines like the Atec or (if you can find them) Whitetail Expedition scopes. For just a little more money you get a whole lot more-these are nice scopes.
Not many people have had a chance to try out the newest model Simmons of the new line up, but I am always curious also to see how their new products perform.

The new Master series scopes from Simmons won't be available until August or September according to a couple senior members at RFC.
