Hey y'all,
Just curious to hear if the Freedom Arms SA is that much better than the Ruger SA as to justify the huge price increase as far as accuracy and fit and finish goes.

My old model 44 Rugers get a lot more range time than my 83. Not sure why, I guess they give me the warm-fuzzies. And the well-worn ones make great project guns. They can get new grip frames, sights, triggers, flutes, grips, case colors, deep bluing, actions..the whole shooting match if need be. And I spend an unusual amount of time scrounching parts and thinking up idears. I even listed my FA for sale but I'd miss it if I ever let it go. I did it mostly so I can tell myself I have SOME self-control left. hehe.

:cb2: I think that self control stuff is really over rated. I do just fine without any!

:cb2: It's my basic lack of self control that's causing me to save up for that FA83 in either .41 or .44 mag.

hhmmm . . . . Interesting two words used together. "SELF" "CONTROL" Is that like politically correct ?? Two words that are impossible to use together and at direct odds with each other.

Self and control don't get close to me either very often. hehe.

If you were to nitpick you could say FAs have a drawback maybe in character. An old Ruger that has some of the finish worn off looks like it has stories to tell. A stainless gun will look pretty much the same in 50 years as it does today. Of course an FA will shoot the same hole over and over which scores big points in that category.
