It's a good kit...and one that will work for years and years...but....You'll need a case trimmer as well...and for just slightly more...you can have a great Turret press and case trimmer..http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000157810140

This would make a great starter kit...I used their turret press for 20 years without a hitch...and if you load for more than 1 caliber...it makes it real nice to have the dies all set up in the press...

The RCBS rockchucker is a very good press, I've had one for 20+ yrs and still use it.

In my opinion you need to master the basics before you start using a turret press.

Another way to go would be the Lee hand tool- add powder, primers bullets and empty cases, a mallet and a flat durable surface, and you're in business.  They are slow, but a good tool to learn the basics on.  Less than $20.

EDIT:
I hate using those goopy case lubes you apply with a pad.
For large quantities of cases I like the spray lubed like Dillon case lube and the clone Frankford Arsenal lube that Midway sells.  The BEST lube out there is Imperial sizing die wax.   You put a tiny bit on the case using your finger and size away.

That's not really needed...the only difference is you turn the head to the next die...instead of taking each one out...I started out with a crappy Lee single stage press kit...had it for 1 week traded it back in on the even crappier Lee progressive kit...had it 1 day...took it back and traded for the Lyman turret kit...(except at that time it was called the Sparten T turret kit..)...I'm not knocking the RCBS kits...it is a great single stage press...but there is no reason in the world why a person cannot learn to load on a Quality turret press just as easy...in fact...it's actually easier on a turret press...since you already have your dies set up...you don't have any linkages or what-not's to mess with...just turn the head to the next die and away you go...it doesn't get a whole lot easier than that.....

What I mean is, you need to know what you're trying to accomplish with each step, so that you can tell if your set-up is working properly.  You need to be able to tell whether your product is useable, before you wind up with a bunch of ammo that needs the bullets pulled.

For instance, there's more to setting up a sizing die than screwing it into the press head and cranking the press arm.  To get the best accuracy, the sized case should come out of the die with as little runout as possible.

For sure, once you have your dies setup in the turet, they should remain adjusted for the next time you need them.  I'm just suggesting that a person should learn to walk before trying to run.

I started with Lee kits and they worked ok for me. I still even have a couple of there dies. I would also get a couple of good manuals and take the time to read them. If you have a buddy thats a good  reloader it wouldn't be bad idea to have him help you through the process. remember to get a good stainless steel caliper to.

The RCBS or the Lee are both good single stage presses and will work well , the turret that mac listed it also a good choice.

Just my .02 worth -- if your not sure about reloading , the lee is a fine , low price unit that will last for years.

Even if you decide to buy another press later , a single stage press is nice to have around .

Well... I picked up my RCBS press and accessories. I just ordered a bunch more stuff, dies, shell holders, case trimmers, etc... I look forward to rolling my own.

I just took my 45-70 out for some shooting. I absolutely love the caliber... And, it's just far too expensive to shoot Wally World ammo @ $1 a shot.

Lest I get Loadbooks, I don't think there are that many left!!! Barnes, Speer and Swift are the only major books I don't have yet!!!
