Taurus Model 669 Split forcing cone
« on: July 13, 2005, 08:57:01 AM »
About a dozen years ago I bought a 669 -- 357cal 6" barrel.  I can't tell you how many rounds I've put thru it, but it's been an awful lot of fun over the years.  About 6 months ago the "forcing cone" split.  If it happens to you, you'll know right away.....

Any way I sent it back to Taurus to be fixed, they were great, New barrel, no charge, pretty quick turn around.

However, after running six rounds thru it, I found a pit in the steel, on the crown of the barrel, near the bore, but not in it.  Rather than sending it back, I was wondering if anyone sells a 90 degree crown reamer for a .357 cal.  Or do you think I should bag it and send it back again?
