.32 or .36?
« Reply #30 on: July 15, 2005, 04:24:44 PM »
Recently had a chance to shoot a .32 Crocket and a .36 Cabela's Blue Ridge now I want em both!!!  Really sweet shootin rifles for small game use, could not ask for anything more accurate in either rifle.

The .36 was was more versatile in loads than the .32 Crocket.  It could be loaded for squirrel or loaded up for coon/groundhog/coyote and retain accuracy and energy at longer ranges.  The fellow who owned these rifles has taken deer with the .36 loaded with a maxi and ranges not exceding 50 yards, he claims it hits as hard as his .357mag Blackhawk does and anchored the deer with the same effectiveness.

As far as deer, I will continue to use my TC New Englander .50, its my primary deer rifle and I am very pleased with its results and PRB's.  If I get the .36 the largest critter I would take a shot at would be a coyote at close range, unless I was starvin and bambi walked out within 25 yards!  Mainly what I am looking for is a 50 yard squirrel/coon/rabbit rifle that's easy on a bad back and shoots PRB.
