I need to find a scope that has plenty of eye relief for my Ruger #1 in 300 Wby mag. Anybody have any suggestions within a sane price range.

I use Leupold's on my Ruger No.1's and find them ideal.  Any of the better scopes (Leupold, Nikon, Bushnell Elite, Zeiss, etc...) should have enough eye relief IF the No.1 stock fits you correctly.  If the stock doesn't fit correctly (scope appearing to be too far away but no risk of getting scope cut), there are offset rings made for the No.1 by several manufacturers.

As I said before though, I've never had an issue with Leupold's or Swarovskis'.

My Ruger #1 in 45-70 wears a Leupold VXIII 1.5X5X20mm. Plenty of eye relief.  :D

I have a Leupold VXII 1X4X20mm on my Encore in 416 Rigby and it also has plenty of eye relief.  So I would have to recommend a Leupold for those heave kickers.  :D

I've got a 3x9 leupolds on my #1 300wby and 30-338 but I did go with Leupold rings on both rifles.

If eye relief is your number 1 concern.......get a Leupold.

Just for something different, check out the Nikon Monrach Gold's.  They have a constant 4 inches of eye relief, and the 1.5-6 x 42 might work well for you.

I have the 2.5-10x50 version and to my eyes the Nikon has better clarity and low light resolution that the high dollar Khales that I splurged on a couple of years back.

I don't know if this would help;

But I just bought a Bushnell 10X40 fixed power from The Optic Zone, and I just can't believe the eye relief. It must be 3.5 to 4 inches. The scope is soooo clear and it's got mil-dot recticle and for $174.00 you can't beat it.
I'm very well pleased. No more Leupolds for me, I can't afford it!
