what is  some good powders to start with, more on accuracy than speed? Will be reloading, 357 mag and max, 223, 243, 25-06, 7mm-08, 308, and 260 Rem.........and 45-70.. :?

IMR 4350 gives accurate loads in my 25-06 for 100 and 120 grain bullets, I also get excellent results in my 243 with IMR4350 with 100 grain projectiles. I use IMR 4064 with 70 grain bullets in the .243. Benchmark works well in my .223.

For your rifles you can't go wrong with IMR 4895.  Not sure how it works in a 25-06, but it fills the bill in all others you listed.  Rather going out and buying a dozen powders, I suggest you start with one powder and eliminate rifles that don't respond to it then go from there.

I would recommend purchasing at least one, preferably two or more good reloading manuals and reading them. They provide solid information on dies, components, powders, primers, bullets, and general procedures and troubleshooting for those of us who enjoy loading our own ammo. Internet chatrooms are great fun and can provide some good advice, but please spend some time on materials from Nosler, Speer, Hornady, Lyman, Accurate Arms, and other manufactures who are well beyond reloading as an interesting hobby. Good luck with your loading and shooting. Oh, one more thing, keep hanging out here on Grabeard Outdoors!

Thanks guys for the help, have the reloading book that came with my Lee, Hornady. Plan on getting a Speer and ann some others. Can't beat Greybeard Forums! Been on it for over a years in the Handi and Thompson Encore Contender Forums. :D

IMR 4227 and Lil'gun work well in the .357s  As dose AA1680, H110, and others .38/.357 are very easy to tailor loads for, Did I mention I like .357s? :wink:

For the .223 I use IMR 4895 for 55 gr. bullet, Hodgdon Benchmark and Winchester W748 for 40 gr bullet. They work very well. The Benchmark is temperature insensitive so it would be my first choice although it might be a bit fast for 55 gr. bullets.
