45/70 range report
« on: July 11, 2005, 03:43:12 AM »
i have been testing the lee 500r bullet and wano fff black. when i first tried 70 grns and tried  seating the bullet to the middle of the first driving band was only able to get 66grns of powder in the case,so tried seating the bullet  out at the top of the second driving band.with the bullet seated thus it just touches the lands, and can now get 70 grns in the case with heavy compression. tried it at the range on saturday.it is a very accurate load, not as good as goex but more than exceptable 1/1/4 inch at 100 meters.i will have to put it through the crono to see wot the velocity is.i don't size my cases and i youse a tapper crimp die.
