Aluma Grips
« on: August 25, 2005, 03:08:11 AM »
I have received the Aluma grips I ordered for the new STI Trojan .45 1911.
I received them in three days, good turn around time for a net order I think. They kept me posted with all the info needed to track the shipment, which was priority mail. I ordered them on Monday and received them on Wednesday.
The grips look better on the very dark blueing of the Trojan than I had suspected. I was originally looking for white grips. The finish is very good, I got the checkered grips. The checkering is very tight and appears to be flawless. The feel of the checkering is good without much abrasiveness, though that will be better determined after a good round of firing the weapon.
The grips fit the Trojan very well and required no adjustments. The stainless steel screws look good on the grips.
I am very pleased with the product to this point and will continue this review after firing.

Glad you like them. Sounds like they met your hopes.

I've been considering getting these grips. Looking at the
black AlumaGrip Deluxe checkered 'Tactical Style' grips.

How did they compare to photos on the 'net?
Does the grip metal match the texture of the gun?

Thanks for any info.

When I got mine a few years ago on the "house" 45 they came in black anodized,Gold and silver I got black. What I like is how your hand sticks tight no matter how bad you may be holding or sweaty you are.

The colors on the net are a little more muted than when actually seen. Mine are the anodized and are actually a little more white than I would have suspected. That was ok by me, because white was what I was looking for.
All in all I am very happy with them and the turnaaround time was great.
BTW the do not do the gold colored, nickel plated, anymore.
