Reintroducing myself - been away a while but I'm back now.
« on: July 12, 2005, 05:37:10 AM »
Used to post here as Deaf Smith but since i had to reregister desided to use my own name. So if anybody remembers me, Houdy!
To those who don't I have been shooting Contenders for about 20 or so years starting in IHMSA and them just general target shooting. I have a variety of barrels and prefer not to wildcat if a factory cartridge will do the job. But that does'nt mean I don't reload for all my guns and cartridges(except 9mm and .223 cheap blasting ammo is to easy to come by to waistr the time reloading when I could be shooting!) I find the nasty recool monsters turn me off in the contender but the low recoil target of std rounds are fun. Yet i like my Super 14 30-30 just fine but then reoil is just a oush with that one. Had a 45/70 and a 375 jdj but the balst and pain was just too much for me to enjoy shooting the gun(funny since I don't mind full bore 44's out of my blackhawk or 629). I also fins i have a real passion for both carbine barrels as well as the stubby 6.5 inchers. Well thats me.
