Gentlemen,

I am interested in taking my 13 year old son on his first black bear hunt in Ontario, Canada.  Do any of you have a guide/outfitter that you could recommend?  Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

I got all fired up to take my son bear hunting in Ontario and was told that a person must be 16 to hunt bear there.  Check into that before you go much further looking for an outfitter.

Best of luck,

Brad

Brad,

Thanks for the "heads up" on this regulation.  I checked it out, and you are right - residents must be at least 15 years old and non-residents must be 16 years old to hunt in Ontario.  I'm going to have a pretty disappointed hunting partner since I did some promising before I did my homework.  Really stupid!

Does anyone know if the same rule applies in Minnesota?  If not, does anyone have an outfitter in mind that they can recommend?  He has his hunter's safety certificate and hunted whitetail with me last Fall.  Thanks in advance for any insights you can share.

Go to Manitoba or Sk. better bear hunting, no age restrictin. No one could pay me enough to go back to Ontario
