I've got a Marlin 30-30 and it aint the 336W (which it most closly resembles) but a 30AW. What is this baby?? I picked it up for $230 with see-thru rings. Great -1"@50yrds and 1.5@100yrds with Winchester PPs

I asked the same question a while back and was told it is a lever gun with generic wood and brushed barrel instead of polished made to be sold by Wal Mart.  I cleaned up the trigger on mine and with Federal Premium I can regularly get 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards.  It has taken several deer and is with me in the woods each fall.  I got mine for $75 from a neighbor who was moving.

I saw one at a gun shop a while ago that was priced higher than a 336 with a Williams peep.  Gp figure.
