I've got 2 VX-1 2-7x scopes, one on a 338-06 Ultra and the other on a 30-06 Ultracomp, also have a Vari-x 2-7x compact on a .308 BLR, so I guess that leaves the 3-9x Mueller for the .270 in your case....I have the 3-10x44 Mueller on my .280 Rem Ultra and a 2-7x32 Mueller Multi-shot on my .30-30 Handi...... FWIW...

well...i will put the leupold on the 308 which i originally bought it for...now for the 270 ultra comp...would the 3-10x44 be better suited for this caliber?  i am not familiar at all with the 270

The 3-9x40 Sport Dot will be fine on the .270, I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on my .270 Handi barrel. I already had several 3-9x scopes and just decided I wanted to check out the 3-10x Mueller, but the 3-9x should work just as well.
