anycomments  good  or bad  i would  like to  hear . i just  had a  rechamber from 25-06  to a 257 weatherby  .on a  encore  barrel. the price of his barrels,272.00 it would have been    cheaper  to  buy  a barrel  from  him  .  92  for a rechamber.  ty  lee

I do not own one of his barrels but have never heard anything negative about them either.

I have two Van HOrn contender carbine barrels. One is a 221 Fireball and the other is a 17-222.  The 221 took a little while to break in, but the 17-222 was a non fouling barrel from the start.  Both will easily group into less than .75 inch- closer to .5 inch at 100 yards.  I would recommend his barrels . :P

I now have about 4 of his barrels and haven't had a problem with any of them. My most accurate deer getter barrel is a 26 inch 280 Rem AI.
I haven't seen any better crown on an Encore barrel than what Dave cuts, well maybe Mike at OTT.
Might not be anything wrong with Factory barrels or other barrel makers products but I'll keep buying Van Horn and OTT barrels. I honestly believe you can't beat barrels from either one.
And I have the very first 22 lr barrel OTT made for use without a rimefire adapter and it is so marked. It will out shoot most of my heavy barreled 22 lr target rifles.
I ordered the 280 AI barrel from Van Horn(with custom dimensions) and had it 2 weeks later.

I have a 6.5X225 15" VanHorn barrel for my contender, SUPER accurate and gives better velocity than stated in his data.  Very pleased.  Also a 358X444 20" carbine barrel for the Contender, likewise,  Very accurate.  The third barrel I have from him is a 38-55 20" for the contender, the .377" diam. cast bullets left something to be desired but when I went to the .379" the accuracy became respectable, not as good as the other two, yey, but I'm still working on it.
     Very pleased with the quality    and the price.
