Tech Force question
« on: July 18, 2005, 07:16:18 PM »
Hi again,

I'm thinking of ungrading from my Tech Force 25 to a Tech Force 99M.

How much of a difference would this make?

What FPE does a stock 99M shoot in .22? in .177?

The 99M is more powerful than the M25 but the fpe is going to depend on what pellet weight you are shooting.  Just for example lets use the Beeman H&N pellet in both calibers(.177 = 7.55 gr. & .22 = 13.75 gr.) using factory velocity data.

Model 25
.177 @ 1,000 fps has 17 fpe.
.22 @ 800 fps. has 20 fpe.

Model 99M
.177 @ 1,100 fps has 20 fpe.
.22 @ 900 fps. has 25 fpe.

If you plan on doing very much small game hunting then the .22 is the better choice.  Hope this helps.  Lawdog
