223 / 22-250 twist rates
« on: July 24, 2007, 10:14:19 AM »
Anyone know what the twist rates are for these handi barrels?  How well do they stabilize bullets 60 grains and above?

Welcome aboard! Twist rates are listed in the FAQs, along with lots of other info that you should read. 22-250 is 1:14", 223 is 1:12" or 1:9", the only way to know is check the .223 bore with a rod, that info is in the FAQs also. Whether they shoot the heavier bullets is up in the air, might do well with some, might not, depends on the load. In general, stick with 55gr or lighter and you'll do well, accuracy with heavier longer bullets is questionable, good in some, poor with most, even in the 1:9".
