I just got it back
« on: August 20, 2005, 12:59:08 PM »
Well, I just got my Black Hawk back from thr Ruger repair shop.

I sent it in to have the 6" barrel replaced with a 45/8" barrel. I am telling you now, they did a great job. Here's what they did.

(1) Replaced the barrel.
(2) Replaced the ejector housing.
(3) Replaced the trigger.
(4) Replaced the hammer.
(5) Replaced internal parts as needed.
(6) Reblued the entire gun.

Plus sent me all the old parts including the old barrel.

Cost $ 126.00 plus 15.10 my cost to get it to them

Guy's, you can't beat a deal like this.

Just wanted to share my good fortune with you. The gun looks like it is brand new.

By the way the gun was made in April of 1977.

It sure as heck sounds like a fair price to me.  I just bought another Ruger SA revolver today, Bearcat, and if it ever goes in for work its good to know I won't get gouged.

Sounds to me like you got a fair deal. You will like the 4 5/8 barrel . I have a few with that lenth barrel and i like them. The 7 1/2" is good for long range shooting, But the 4 5/8 packs a lot better......Joe........
