Used 357mag Prices??
« on: April 19, 2005, 10:45:20 AM »
It tough to find a decent used 357mag with 6" barrel priced affordable, so whats up with that???  I've waited for months to find one and all i saw were prices around $399.  Lastweek  I hit the gun shop finally at the right time.  I seen a price tag of $199 on an excellent used Ruger Security Six in blue w/6" barrel.  After a close inspection the gun was hardley shot there were no wear marks on the cylinder or inside the frame from the shells.  I finally got lucky. The new prices are out of site while the used prices are scary lately too.  I just don't see great buys that often here.

i hear ya, the prices around here have been on  the upswing. local shops are asking 300.00+ for used S6. i saw one the other day 4"blued looked as though it was used as a hammer in its'spare time, the shop was asking 365.00. saw a ssS6 2 3/4" go for over 300.00 on one of the online auctions. i just bought a used 6" blue S6 off the internet for 205.00. saw others going for more.  i quess the 6" is not as desirable as the shorter models. seller posted lots of pics the gun looks clean with strong blueing and slight cylinder ring. I did not have a 6" so i bid on it. and was shocked that i won the auction.

those older sec sixes are a steal. roun here the older rugers and any skinny barrel 357 dont bring a premium as there are too many more modern guns on the market. just curious arky65, but what did your shipping and paying your ffl dealer to accept run yu?
