Are you having any 14" barrels made or are they a special order?
What is the availability on brass?

Ed,
Anything beyond the 10" barrels we had made are special order. The .22 Reed Express is most efficent in a 10-12" barrel, hence the reason we chose the length. The brass is available, however we only made a small run of it and are waiting for the equipment to arrive to begin full runs of the brass and ammunition. If the brass is not annealed, it will show stress marks on the shoulder that reduce the life of the brass. There is not a seperate forming die needed, as the FL die also acts as a forming die.

What exactly is the "Reed Express" cartridge.  What is the case based on?

The .22 Reed Express is a 7.62x25 necked down to .22 with the shoulder blown forward. It's intent was for a small caliber high velocity pistol cartridge for small game/varmint and self defense. As it turns out it's a tad more powerful than the .22 Hornet yet is much eaiser to load.
