Which, if any, die manufacture provides the best chance to improve accuracy?

FORSTER
HORNADY
REDDING
RCBS

I have a Savage that is very accurate with factory shells, but I going to start reloading this summer for it.

If you were going to be shooting bench rest compitation and had a tight chamber I would recomand the Forster and an arbor press, but with a factory chambered rifle you would be waisting your money. RCBS or Hornady will do all you need. If you really want to spend more money the Redding buching dies set might get you a hair better groups, but only if your doing everything just right.

How would Rcbs x-dies work in the 204?

     I use the RCBS dies and have no problem with them. Infact I use alot of RCBS dies and have never had a problem with any of them. The only dies that I have ever had much trouble with are Lee dies. It`s got to the point I won`t buy anything made by Lee.

I use the Redding dies, they are within a buck of RCBS and have, I beleive a little tighter tolerances and a much nicer adjusting screw. Good luck with brass for awhile. I had some on backorder from Midway and they cancelled my backorder yesterday.

I use the RCBS set.  Very happy with them.  I read in a different post to polish the inside of the full length sizer dies with metal polish.  I did this and had great results.  I use very little lube, just enough to cut down on friction.  I can do this because the inside of the dies is smooth and shiny.  I also learned a quick lesson on using too much lube and dented some cases.  I adjust a good bit on the seating die because I am currently working on some different loads concerning the OAL.  If I had to change anything I would but a micro seater.  I also have some Hornady and some Redding and some Lee dies and they work just as well.  Attention to detail is what makes or breaks a die set.  It is all what works for you. :grin: [/quote]

The best chance to 'improve accuracy'  (assuming it was bad to begin with) would be more likely to come from the operator and not the manufacturer. All of them make excellent dies capable of producing ammo more accurate than most shooters can appreciate.
