Well i took me brand new Sportster out with a new BSA 3-12 Sweet 17. I set the AO for 50yrds and had at it. Good 1" groups considering no tinkering, new barrel, Remington ammo which i heard sportsters don't like. Went to 100yrds and AHH the image is blurry..messed with the focus on the eye bell, little bit better....oh AO is still at 50yrds  :P  :-D. so stupid me made me panic for nothing. Never got a 100yrd group really just kinda 1 shot adjust, 1more adjust, another adjust. im just messin right now.

Yea i do most of this anyway. I don't know if this is possible but im getting the impression the elevation knob is 1/8th and windage is 1/4th(which it is). this is a little more of my dumbness, but while i was cleaning the rifle the patches after a while came out exaclty the same color(yellowish) then it dawned on me this color is the color of CLP i was using,  :-D  uhhhhhh it never gets old for me, so i was cleaning a clean gun :P

Sounds like your having fun while you learn.  It never gets old that way.  As far as your scope adjustments go, I've found that on the budget scopes that I don't put much faith in the amount of movement you should get from 1 click.  It might say 1/4 MOA but take it with a grain of salt and keep track of your actual results.  Hopefully its consistent so that you can know how much change you will actually get.

Good Luck.
