Marlin Trapper ????
« on: July 27, 2005, 04:03:02 AM »
I am wondering if you could take a 336y (youth model 16.5 barrel) and

put a full size ramline stock on it to make a Trapper style Marlin,  sorta

like the old Marlin Marauder.

The basic question is The youth model the same reciever, just a different

barrel, stock and forearm?

I would like a shorter 30-30. I have a rossi 92 in 357 magnum and

a 336c Marlin in 30-30. Henry Lever Actions in 22LR and 22 magnum

Love them Levers   SeTexJeff

What you described should work perfectly.  Though I haven't done this myself, I at one time thought about getting a 336Y model and putting a full size stock on it to make a "trapper" length .30-30.

FYI, last time I checked w/ Marlin a full size checkered walnut pistol grip model 336 stock was just under $100 delivered.

Good luck w/ your project.
