This morning a suspected stupid-cide bomber was blasted by a new, elite police unit.

Will ALL UK police now start to be armed ?

Seems the special unit were all plain clothes officers, so their weapons were hidden before use.

What will be a good handgun/ammo combo for the newly armed, uniformed officers ?
Keeping in mind that British citizens have little contact with handguns and are apparently "squeamish" around them...so something like a Mauser "broomhandle" would be inadvisable.
Frankly, I would expect a large caliber of moderate speed would be the ticket...something like the old Charter arms Bulldog .44 or one of the new, quite compact .45 APCs.
Need that big slug to stop the culprit NOW...before he can detonate the bomb.
As in another post, I would fill the hollow points of these big slugs with pig blood and cap the hollow points with a mix of excrement and casein glue.
Then I would publicize the fact...let the terrorists decide if they wan to die with an injection of pig blood...

Hopefully it will be a deterrent...and save the lives of would-be deranged terrorists..

The excrement might bring the terrorist in to the hospital...even if he initially gets away...

Do I sound cruel, especially for a Christian ?

No, I am not being cruel, just reacting in a cool, methodical manner to the terrorists among us.

They have PUT THEMSELVES beyond human consideration...

We use antibiotics to slay bacteria that would kill us, we must use whatever we need to in order to stop these once human bacteria...

We should hit them where and how it hurts them the most...

IRONGLOW. You are being realistic my friend. We have to see these scum for the rabid dogs they are nd treat them accordingly. I do have aproblem with your terminology, there is no such thing as WASTING a terrorist, As long as they are dead, money well spent. POWDERMAN.

I caught the tail end of a story about this on Fox News this AM. If I heard it right the man that was killed DIDN'T have a bomb, WASN'T a suspect in the 7/21 bombings and so far had no terrorist connections that they could find. Until I see more details I think I'll withhold judgement on this one.

He had a heavy coat on in the summer time and he did not stop for the police. Yea they may have been a bit fast on the trigger but if the police holler stop and you do not they get kinda itchy in any country!! There still may be more to this as why did he not stop he must have felt guilty about something?

Who's you guys? Theres know it alls on both sides of this thing. Only thing is none of us know it all. I'v heard now he was there illegaly so maybe thats why he ran. I cant justify shooting everyone who looks suspicious tho & it sure seems there were procedural errors.
If theres any one huge thing that sets us apart from the countries these whacko's come from its the rights to due process. England might not have the same protection afforded its people but here we do & shouldn't lose sight of who we are out of fear of these scumbags.

You are in the subway, a group of men come up to you in plain cloths and tell you their the police, and to stop, and you would?

You do not spend a lot of time in the city or on the subway, do you?

Traditional rules in the subway:

1. Avoid direct eye contact.
2. Do not acknowledge others talking around you
3. Be aware of the surroundings
4. Do not use restrooms
5. Do not stand on the edge of the platform
6. Stand with your back against a wall or pillar while waiting for a train
7. Do not sit in an empty, or nearly empty car
8. If there is an attendent stay in view of them

If you feel threatened run towards the crowd

life is no joke but funny things happen

If they are so bad why use them?

?? Are you sure they are like that in England? If so why? I know why they are bad here gangs, and every one of them punk aholes should be shot too! End of story!

As far as Living in a city or riding a subway I would not live in a large city for no one! As far as a subway goes never been on one and really do not want to.

I been on one once. Didn't know the rules but having been in NYC before I knew you werent supposed to talk to people. I live 40 or so miles from NYC & havent been there in 12 years. When I was a kid we went there alot for the museums & zoo's & such but I never had a desire to go as an adult. Had to go to see a medical specialist that time we took the subway. I cant say I was afraid but I sure wasn't comfy. My wife went to college in NYC & was accostomed to it but theres just too many people for me, everywhere you look, most of them afraid to say hi & not real friendly at all. I dont know but seeing as London is a big city I'm pretty sure theyre subways gotta be intimidating too. We dont have a monopoly on scumbags.

Theres too many reasons in my head why this guy mightta been running to list. S#it happens & sometimes people blow it. This was one IMO. The cause was noble, just wasn't carried out right.

I read that this guy was an illegal, that would explain him running. From what I understand, SOP is to hold the guy down while someone else shoots him in the head to keep a possible bomber from setting one off. Like I said, he shoulda stopped. POWDERMAN. :? :? :? :?

Since when are the guys here the bad guys just because we are not down on our knees crying for some one who may have been innocent and killed by mistake? He still acted suspiciously and for his mistake he paid for it. Thats too bad but there are lots of other folks paying for it every day! This guy is not the first who may be killed by mistake and sure as heck will not be the last. If he was in England illegally then he should have known better to put him self in that position since England was on such high security. Yea its a bad thing but do not try to make out the guys on this board as bad folks because we are not holding a prayer meeting for the guy! :x :x :x His dad is dieing of cancer gee thats too bad to bad he has to deal with that and his son dieing. But why mention that is that supposed to make us feel worse?? It does not have anything to do with how this guy acted? Get off your pulpit I am not buying it.

The police in question held down a "suspicious" but innocent man and shot him in the head at point-blank range.

Now, some excuse and even applaud this excess, while claiming that he "deserved" it because he was "suspicious" and "uncooperative".

As one of our forum members has been fond of saying so recently:

at least change the name ofthe thread to suspected terrorist,the man was only guilty of being in the country with an expired visa,he was not a criminal by any other manner,he stayed because his father was dieing,have some compasion. :roll:

OK so he was unarmed and maybe scared but most innocent folks do not run so he must have been hiding or worried about something even folks in Brazil know all about cops. Something does not wash here.

Things happen. Its a tragedy for sure IMO.

They oughtta just arm all the citizens of all the free countries. Then we can shoot them ourselves. :grin: By the people for the people remember.
