SA 1911 TRP

I had a guy offhand ask $600 for a SA 1911 TRP that was manufactured in 2001.  Black teflon finish.  I have not seen it, but it has apparently been well cared for.  I have been wanting a .45 lately, so the offer really peaked my interest.  What is this gun worth; what should I counter-offer?

On the auction sites they are selling just over $1100 bucks new. It’s hard to say on a used gun because your geographical area may call a premium price for certain guns on the used market.

For a well cared for used gun that has had little use I’ll expect to pay around 35% less retail cost in my area and I want a chance to function test the gun. This price may vary on how bad I want the gun and how hard they are to find. If you cannot save 300 bucks or so on a 1100 dollar pistol I’d just as soon buy it new.

Take Care,
Scott
