Sighting in a 375JDJ
« on: July 29, 2005, 07:39:29 AM »
Could someone tell me where I could find a chart that shows the bullet drop when sighting in a 373JDJ with factory 220 grn ammo. Something like if I sight in 0 at 25 yrds how high will I be at 100 yrds, or if I sight in at 0 at 100 yrds how low will I be at 200 and so on.  I think you understand my question.  Any help would be greatfull.  Thank in advance..

Just my .02.

If it were me, I would check the round through a chronograph, find out what bullet is being used in your factory round and go to the reloading book for that bullet and check their trajectory charts.

The best thing is to go ahead and sight in at 100 yards and check the POI at various ranges. This will give you actual results and not theoretical.

To get a basic idea of where the impact is with my reloads, I do just that.

Good luck.

I have shot the factory rounds and my hunting load that I reload is very close to it. Within 100fps. I load the Hornday 220FP with IMR 4895, 49grns.
This is in a SSK Shilen barrel. If you reload you might start with less powder. Hope you can read this ballistic chart I ran on my 375JDJ
at 100 yds.
