Has anyone tried the GM .32 caplock barrel on their T/c Renegade? I am leaning towards buying one to use for Squirrels and Turkeys and Rabbits and....... Anyway, are they worth $190? Are they accurate? I will be using Roundballs. Thanks-Jack.

I've no experience with the Renegade version, but have a little bit of experience with the 15/16" Hawken verision.  All shot well with thin lightly lubed patch, 20-30 grains GOEX 3F and #0 buckshot.  I even converted one of the percussion models to flint and it shoot just fine.

Take care, have fun....

slayer:  I have done exactly what you are asking about.  I put a .32 (1" of course) Green Mountain barrel on a Renegade stock with the double set trigger.  It is a heavy rifle but I like heavy.  It is so accurate that it is scary.  (We share the same birthday except 20 years apart, Think the same way?)

If push comes to shove you could use the .50 on em', just load way down in the powder dept., say 30-35grs and have at it.  That should give enough power to thump em' without being full power.
On the subject of .32's, the only one that I ever owned was a Dixie Gun  Works Tennessee Poor Boy  and it'd drive tacks with a .312 round ball and 15grs. of 3fg. as long as I ran a spit patch down the bore between shots.  If I didn't it'd foul and loading would be pretty hard.  Anyway, good luck huntin'.

Yes,  GRN MTN offers many nice options for our T/C guns for many calibers, I am thinking .58 cal after the .32!! Jack.

Got mine from TOTW 2 years ago and love it. Mine shoots maxi's and prb great. It is a heavy rifle but for the accuracy, wouldn't sell it for anything.  I use <PRB w/.010" patch over 30 gr Pyro P>. Enjoy!!

Great news!! I bought a new Roundball barrel without the QLA for my T/c Hawken .50 Flinter, only because it matches the gun, but with the Renegade, the GRN MTN barrel is blued and will match and be cheaper than T/C. Jack.
