Has anyone chronographed any factory 500 S&W Loads in the Handi Rifle yet? If so, what bullet and what speed? Thanks.

James B.,
With no other information forthcoming, I'll just say that I'm expecting to see around 300-400 FPS gain over published handgun velocities for the .500 S+W. That is when I can finally get to wrap my fingers around one.

How much do the 500 S&W barrels cost? Do they come with the iron sights or a scope rail? I know all of these questions have been answered before i just can't remember the answers. :-D

Drew,
I believe the accessory barrel was in the $82 neighborhood and came with iron sights, possibly even the fiber optic that they seem to be using on the ones being shipped out as whole rifles.

Drew,
That was exactly what I had planned to do! It would still be twice as long as the revolver standard barrel length. Talk about a Handi little carbine/brush gun! It should still make for good 200 yard shots. I have a Leupold 3X fixed scope all set to mount on it.

The 500 barrel I got came with fiber optic sights. I haven't had a chance to run any ammo thru the chrony yet but its a blast to shoot. I would suspect at least 200fps over published handgun data. I put a red dot on it just to play around with. I plan on switching over to a scope to check the accuracy potential when I do I'll run some ammo thru the chrony.

Mine gets about 200 fps over the pistols with factory ammo and that's the weak magtech stuff.
