Does anyone have any expierence with these stocks? I want to restock a cracked ADL with one of these & wanted some feed back. The price is right for a hunting rifle. Thanks for your thoughts........

I replaced the "purty" stock on my BDL with one of the Rem synthetics.  Accuracy was not a problem at all ... consistent sub-MOA shooter with either stock.  But I didn't like the hollow drum sound everytime a branch or something touched the stock.  I have since sold the rifle, but if I still had it I would experiment with fillers to try to deaden the sound.  Not fun when you're trying to be as quiet as possible and your stock is banging away like a drum!!  Other than that I was perfectly happy with it for the price.

Tim B-4 I jump into the Tem. syn stock take a real good look at it if you are going to be using it for hunting.  There are some others out there that cost somewhat more but will give you a better stock hs / Mcmillian to name a couple the rem is pretty thin. :D   JIM

I am not the one to talk about synthetic stocks as I erally dislike them..  That said I will note that they are very stable and when well built wear like iron.  The Remington stocks fail an awful lot.  A friend of mine who does a lot of tactical style rifles used to have a barrel full of broken synthetic stocks.  Most were Rem but there were others.  All were in some way broken...  He really likes the McMillan.... I never noticed any of them in the 'barrel'...

HS Precision cost $100 less than a McMillian stocks and have an aluminum bedding block so you don't need to bed the rifle.Bell & Carlson have a Medalist stock with an aluminum bedding block for a little over $200 but you'd have to convert it to a BDL. I believe you can get a Hogue stock for around $100 that's pillar bedded. IMHO the more ridgid the stock, the better the accuracy. I put a Boyd's laminated stock on my M70. I love it.
