22KHornet,
I hate to see you upset about this... .. well not really, but I did feel a desire to respond.
Keep in mind that the "joker" (seller) has every right to ask what he wants for his stuff. It is up to a buyer to pay it or not. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything at what you consider outrageous prices. That is kind of what capitalism (and freedom) mean.
You might say its really the buyer who is the "joker" I suppose. Just because you and I wouldn't pay that much for that stuff, why get worked up because someone else will? We have more information (because we are handi-holics) than the people who are buying on eBay. We have this forum for one thing.
Should you decide to sell your own stuff on eBay:
I swear if someone buys this I am parting out my handi and starting all over.
are you going to accept an outrageous price for it? (You're not just calling it outrageous if sold by someone else now are you?) Or are you going to put a low-ish "buy it now" price so that the buyer doesn't pay more than what you would?
The whole idea behind these auctions is to see what a given item is worth to people in the markeplace. Folks on this forum, including you and I are potentials in that marketplace and we also choose to buy or not to buy... and for the most part, we choose not to buy.
I have sold stuff on eBay (and other auctions) at prices that just plain blew me away because I had no idea there were people out there who wanted it so much. Why not consider that they got what they wanted, and I certainly got what I wanted? This is known as a win-win and is generally considered the sign of a good transaction. :toast:
If the one who buys it is happy, and the one who sells is happy, why let that bother you? (And yes, sometimes ignorance is bliss, but any case, bliss is still bliss. wink: )
It is obvious there are people who want this stuff at those prices, and you (or I) have every right to attempt to sell our own stuff (if we choose) for whatever we can get for it... and what will allow US to sleep at night.
Don't get your knickers in a knot about it. Sooner or later people who by and use Handis will find us on this forum and we can increase the deals we do amongst ourselves.
:agree:
By the way, if you do decide to part out your stuff... what do you have? Maybe we can deal!
Cheers
Kerry
