What gun?
« on: August 07, 2005, 03:15:38 PM »
My brother wants to start          skeet with the local 4-H and is looking to buy a gun. He wants a double barrel shotgun because he does not like simiautos. Does anyone have any suggestion for a gun for him to start with.

He should try a Beretta.

If you're going to shoot clay games such as skeet you'll want an Over and Under double NOT a side by side double.

Berreta is fine, so is Browning or even Ruger for that matter. Go to a well stocked store and feel them. See what he thinks feels best to him. That's the one to buy, not what me or someone else might prefer. Shotguns are a very personal thing. Fit and feel are every thing if you want to hit what you shoot at. Just because one feels great to me doesn't mean it will to another.

I had the Beretta O/U 686 Silver Perdez, very nice gun.  I like the Stoeger SxS better and for the money a Huglu is a very nice gun.
