Replaced the synthetic stock on my 45-70 with the Choate  Varmit stock. Left the forend as is since it's a tack driver, The Choate I put on my 308 Survivor made recoil so mild, I thot I would give it a try on my Synthetic 45-70.Let you know how it works. Maybe can use it on the next PD shoot. :-D

That sounds like a cool setup there with a 45-70. Old school meets new. Got any pics of it? I would like to see a Handi with a Chaote Varmint butt stock with a stock forearm, the combination sounds interesting.
