30-06 Barrel got ripped off
« on: August 08, 2005, 11:02:35 AM »
While I was in Valdez with my brother-in-law, someone broke into my  shed where I store my 4 wheelers.  They stole my son's BMX racing bike, and his Honda Motorcycle.  They also went through the pack I had strapped onto my 4-wheeler in the shed.  From that they got my GPS, range finder, electronic game caller, binoculers, hand ax, several skinning knives, and my leatherman.  But most distressing was the loss of my 30-06 barrel and the Shepard scope I had mounted on it.  The barrel was in a padded case under the back pack strapped to the rear rack.  I had removed the handi with the .223 barrel, and taken it into the house before I left.  And that was my long range gun.  Gone!

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

That is about the lowest form of scum out there.  Hopefully the cops can get some kind of lead and nab them before they sell it all off.

My brother got his ATV stolen right out of the back of his truck, parked in his driveway.  They were inside sleeping.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

I don't think you can get much lower. My cousin in charlotte, NC had his tricked out honda hatchback stolen from right outside his bedroom window. Police found it about a week later 10 miles from his house. It had been stripped and all that was left was the dash and the steering wheel. It was a shame... :(  :(.

Keep an eye peeled on eBay. Are there any unique marks on it?
Hot stuff has a way of showing up there.

I agree which makes it even worse....I truely HATE thieves...I've been robbed several times.....I like to think I would be calm and level headed  if I caught one in the act and do the only just and logical right thing......but thats illegal...

You've probably already done this but submit an insurance claim ASAP and get info about the stolen goods to law enforcement.

If someone did to me what you've described I'd be angry enough to post a $5,000.00 reward for his arrest and successful prosecution.  That might be enough to cause a few of his barroom buddies to turn him in.

My good friend had 3 of his 7 4 wheelers stolen a few years back, he call 911 when he noticed them gone and called his insurance agent.

Well needless to say they never recovered the ATV's and his insurance told him that if it can have an insurance policy to cover it by itself then home owner insurance wouldnt cover it.

So he was out everything other than the repairs to garage.

I'm sorry for your loss there are some true A holes in this world that will take from you just because you have it and they dont.

Sorry Again Warf
