I was at the local gunshop getting ready to order another Handi when  guy walked in with an UNFIRED 45-70.  He bought it a week or two before and didn't notice a ding in the barrel at the outer rim of the muzzle end. (looked like it was done in original shipping).

He wanted to trade it in or send it back..  ...so I did some talking and got the bugger, with tag still on front sling mount, for $150 cash.  New, in box, all paperwork.  Even the safety device hadn't been taken out of it's plastic wrapping.

a little crowning work and a rebluing should clean it up nicely. :)

Only problem is..  Now I gotta pay on a lay-a-way order for a 30-30 Handi(for stepson's first hunt), because I scarfed up the 45-70 on site. lol

Lucky guy, good deal on a 45-70 you will enjoy it. The 30-30 will be a welcome as well, it will come :lol:
