Author Topic: BLEEPIN stuck casing!!! Help me fix this problem please!!! (Read 575 times)

OK, I love the Handi in 7mm-08 but I cannot get the stupid thing to stop getting the fired case stuck in the chamber!!!

I tried using one of the wire brushed that came with my cleaning kit and basically hooking it to my drill and spinning it for a few minutes. It did nothing to help my problem.

I need some details about how to fix this problem. I will NOT have a rifle in the field that I cannot load a second shot into if the need arises. Anyone have a detailed explanation of how to fisx this stuck casing proble once and for all!?!?!?!?

Does this do this with factory ammo...or handloads...or both?...Have you checked the barrel gap with a feeler gauge?

These are factory Remington (Core Lokt) loads. It ejects the unshot rounds fine, but will stick on every third or fourth shot cartridge.

Yup...check the FAQ sticky on polishing and cleaning the Handi..it should help

i have 3 nef guns, and found out that if any oil or liquid or anythign is in the chamber it usually will cause a stuck case, i cleaned and made sure they were dry when i was done, but a day after there would be oil all over the face of the reciever..i thought to myself, what the heck, and remembered i oiled the extractor, i took the extractor apart, well its an ejector, but u know what i mean and dried it, oiled it very very lightly so there was no excess oil, reassembled, the problem was fixed, i no longer had stuck cases, its worht a try to dissassemble the ejector area and check it out, the oil would always get in my chamber and cause stuck cases 100% of the time, but you might have a whole different problem, but i guess its worht a try to check it out...hope u get your gun working right...

I recommend the use of a dry lubricant such as Hornday One Shot or Elmer's SlideAll for the ejector/extractor, it won't collect dust over time and provides plenty of lubricity for that component. That's all I've ever used and I've never had an ejection problem in any of my Handis.

not trying to hijack the post or anything, but is a dry lube, the aerosol stuff in a can that has teflon in it? mine is birchwood casey synthetic gun oil in a spray can, and it has teflon...this is a dry lube isn't it?

No, that's a synthetic lubricant that stays wet. B/C makes a dry film lube also....A dry film lube goes on wet, then quickly dries to leave the dry lubricant behind, it's only in a liquid state until the carrier/solvent evaporates.

I like to use Super Lube, they have a dry and wet syn lube the dry works very well. I use it at work all the time, and I can always find it @ K-Mart for around $3 for a full size can.
