A friend called about an hour ago, said he injured his neck and can't shoot a hard recoiling rifle, I know two more people with bone problems, they break if they shoot a hard kicking rifle. Another only has one arm but can balance a rifle on a rest for a shot. Some others are afraid of hard kicking rifles, thus shoot badly. I could go on but many people have to shoot a semi for various reasons.
I was wondering why you guys shoot them even though thet are less than reliable and not too accurate, I"m talking deer hunting here.
I use a Bar and have been most happy with it, except it weighs a ton and handles like a 2x4 but I was thing of reasons why I use it
1. it has soft recoil, I shoot better
2.Sometimes a deer will move,you shoot a tree ,
You have that second chance if needed
3.You can keep your sight picture on game better
4. many times I've seen a deer stop after a miss before bolting, the noise of working any other action will spook the game, with the semi- you are ready to go.
5. Although not extremely accurate, most are good enough for 250-75
yrd shooting.
So with all their problems, why do you use one ?
Appreciate your imput.
