LEVERSCOUT range report

The second time out with the 336 scout.  The conditions were better than last time, mostly sunny, 73* & only a slight breeze.

Started out with a clean bore but the first three shots were centered on the target ~2.5"

170 grain Sierra FP Pro Hunter on top of 32.5 gr of Varget, CCI 200 primers, COL 2.520".
2-1/4", 2-1/8" (4 of 5 inside 1-1/8")

170 gr Hornady FP #3060, 32.5 gr of Varget, CCI 200 primers, COL 2.540":  2-9/16",  2-3/4", 1-3/4"

150 gr Hornady RN #3035, 33 gr of Varget, CCI 200 primers COL 2.550:
 1-3/4", 1-9/16" with 4 of the 5 inside of 5/8"!!!

It' seems my LeverScout likes the 150 grainers.  I didn't load that many because a friend with two 336 didn't shoot them very well (~6" groups in one and 3+ in the other) with this same load.  I guess it goes to show you  every gun is different.

I'm already looking forward to my next trip to the range...  Gotta get reloading!

My plan for this Friday is to try the Sierra & Hornady 170g with 33 gr and see if there is a difference in accuracy.   Loaded and ready to go!

I've also reloaded some more of the 150 gr Hornadys with the same load.  I want to prove it wasn't a fluke...  With any luck I'll chrony these loads too.  Alot depends on time.  With Hunter Sight in getting going there is less latitude to do what I want in a timely fashion.

If time allows I will remove the scout scope and sight  it in with my "back up" Williams Peep and front fire sights.   Afterwards fire another group and see how close to zero it held.  I have a Marlin Papoose that I haven't had to rezero after multiple barrel removals and trips to the range.  I"m not sure what to expect with the Scout Mount.

Here are the results from my third trip to the range with the leverscout.

I fouled the clean cold barrel with three shots, leftovers of 170g Sierra ProHunter bullets over 32.5 gr of Varget. 3 shot group 1-3/8"

Next three were some 150g Hornady RN over 33g of Varget. I was curious to see how they'd print compared to the 170's. 5.5" higher into a 3-shot 1-1/32" group.

I'm feeling pretty good but the next three five shot groups 150g over 33 g of Varget disappoint with 2-1/8", 2-3/8" and 2-3/4" including fliers. Not bad but not as good as I did last week.

I'm starting to think I'm having an off day and switch to the 170g Hornadys over 33g Varget (listed MAX LOAD). The first group is vertically strung at 2-1/8". The next 5 go into 1"!
