Bullet seating depth
« on: March 08, 2003, 11:33:06 AM »
I just cast some bullets from a Lee mold.  The bullet is one of their tumble-lube designs for 9mm.  124 grain TC to be specific.

Anyway, when I seat it to cover all the lube grooves, the OAL is 1.053"!  That's way shorter than the minimum over all length listed in 125grain lead bullet recipes.  They list 1.150" as minimum OAL.

When I seat it to 1.150" there are two lube grooves exposed.  Is this supposed to be that way?  Remember, it's the Lee tumble-lube design.

Anything dangerous about the 1.053" depth?

Powder charge is 5.0 gr. Unique.
