Need help

I have a 500S&W pistol barrel from V.V.A  well there no longer with us and the front forearm screw hole stripped out ...I can't go deeper with hole it's a tapered barrel and the hole is shallow to begin with (only 3 threads deep )

What can I do ?????

And I don't want to warp the barrel

My thoughts
1 silver sodder or tig weld a nut on for permeant threads
2 fill in the old screw hole with silver sodder or tig and then redrill and tap
with those ideas I am worried about warping the barrel
3 and my favorite  a barrel band made out of stainless drill and tap the band also make look nice and contour it fit snug where i need it.
I have yet been able to shoot a 3 shot sub 1" group at 100 yards ...........on any deer!!!!!!

Any of your ideas will work, or you could cut a dove tail grove in the barrel and put in a dove tail that is threaded.  If you cut your own you could make it thick enough to put several threads in.

Sounds like a great idea.
If  you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
