Question on Burris bases Win 70 with Nikon Monarch
« on: August 24, 2005, 05:15:37 PM »
Hi,

I attempted to mount a nikon monarch 2x7x32 on a winchester 70 7mm rem mag with burris dual dovetail rings and mounts. The rings are too far apart (ie. the rings would cover part of the scope bell's (? terminology)). This is not the end of the world as my bushnell elite 3200 2x7x32 fits on the gun just fine and the monarch fits on my rem 700 30-06.

However, would the extended burris dual dovetail bases solve the problem, as to my understanding they are reversable?

The extension rings will solve your problem.  You can also look at Burris' Double Dovetail Extension Bases.  This will solve your problem also and they are cheaper than the rings.  But the bases may hang over the action slightly which some people do not like.
