Went fishing yesterday for some brook trout. Caught 11 kept 5 and lost two that broke my line. Where I caught them you have to ease them over a culvert edge so that gets tough on light line expecially when you have a nice fish on. The 5 I kept the smallest was 10.5 inches and the largest a nice male 13 inches and heavy. Thats nice brookies most anywhere.
I should note that these are out of a hole by a road and while that is public access the land on both sides of the crick on both sides of the road is posted so this is the only way to fish the crick with out wading. Even on private Land WI states if you keep your feet wet you can fish the crick. Since the limit is 5 and I normally can catch a limit by fishing these easy access holes why bother wading where I may get into a confrontation with a land owner even though it would be legal.
I should comment with the shape my legs are in my wading days are long past anyway so this is about the best way I can still catch some trout and enjoy fishing.
