Pat Robertson correctly predicted the election results a year before the 2004 election.
Of course it was revealed (so he says) from a discussion he had with God regarding the economy.
This while the war in Iraq was mounting up incredible amounts of casualties, but for some reason God seemed not to have any interest in expressing His opinions on Iraq.
Strange? Wait, there is more!
Robertson also publicly suggested the bombing of government buildings in washington DC in order to wake bureaucrats up to the needs of religious organizations such as his own.
Well, now he is suggesting assassination of Hugo Chavez.
Catering to the people of his own sect, Robertson's words probably inspire some livid conversations, but such extremism has very little likelyhood of being taken seriously.
But when this kind of rhetoric originates from such a visible leader of a Christian society, it encourages retaliation from the named target, and the possibilities should not be ruled out as initiating a retaliatory assassination attempt on our own president.
Christians may need to re-evaluate just exactly what modern-day Christianity is developing into, and better sequester themselves from publishing such anti-Christian and hypocritical views.
Robertson's words place him square in the center of the same category of terrorists who claim to be Muslims.
As such, Pat Robertson should be added to the list of known terrorists, if for nothing else than to just shut him up!

Robertson has just placed himself solidly into the "Religious Kook" category in my book.

Never fails, a devout religious "leader" eventually becomes thoroughly enamored of his own perceived importance and demands the death of some "infidel" or political opponent.

The problem is that I can't say that I totally disagree with him.

He says what his followers want to hear and the money just keeps rolling in. Hey the guy is getting older maybe he is getting a little senile??? When you mix religion and politics folks seem to think your nuts and in a lot of cases they are or sure look like it. :grin: I find it odd that a religous leader would call for the assassination of some one even a dictator but then who knows maybe he thinks the guy is the devil :twisted: I figure he has a lot of gullible people that send the guy money thats for sure. I am not saying the GOD does not have the power to heal I am positive he does but I do not think he does it through Pat Robertson or his son or the who ever else is on the program with him. That is way too much for me to swallow. Roberston is not the only one of these TV preachers who are a little on the odd side.

Not only old folks on their show they show that folks that do not have a pot to pee in if they give them their last nickel God will see to it that they get a lot of money back. Now I know Religion has always seemed to have asked for money and the idea that if you give it will come back to you may be nice but I sure would not give my last nickel to the 700 club. I know somehwere it says in the Bible about giving and a poor man is better off than a rich man well I do not have to worry about the rich part :? and when I go to church I throw a buck or two into the plate but these folks seem to me they bleed these folks dry. I know the sayings give until it hurts and what goes around comes around but hey charity also starts at home too. What they do may not be crooked but it is damn close to it. :x

The irony is that Hugo Chavez, Castro, or Islamists think that anything Pat Robertson says means squat. In their world no private citizen could say such things and therefore there must be some official backing to it. In our world, even idiots can have a voice! That's the difference between them and us! :roll:

As an evangelical Christian I have to say that this is a possible sign of Robertson's oncoming senility...have to consider it as just that..

JH45...I never agreed with the " prosperity preaching "...that I believe, is a racket...designed to entrap the gullible. After all, a real Christian should not be driven by greed...nor should anyone else for that matter...but some folks are always looking for "something for nothing"..
If they weren't, there would not be nearly so many lottery tickets sold...and the casinos would close....LOL
Perhaps some of these folks, instead of hungering foir the word are really "chasing a rainbow" ...just like lottery players..

Whenever Pat Robertson, Sen Byrd, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosie, Micheal Moore, John Kerry or or anyone else makes such outlandish statements, they simply step out toward the fringes...and start losing credibility...

Where Chavez shows his nature is in that he apparently thinks a lot can be done by the govt with Pat Robertson...
I suppose if Robertson were living in Venezuela, he would be dead today..

BTW..wasn't it just a short time ago when one of the Hollyweird Dem supporters reccommended that Rep Henry Hyde AND his family be assassinated ? Wasn't that Alec Baldwin ?

Now FE...don't be TOO AFRAID...it doesn't become you as a man...we Conservatives weren't terrorized by the spoutings of the likes of Alec Baldwin or Jane Fonda..angered perhaps..but AFRAID ? ...LOL

Honestly, we hear Libs always saying " I'm afraid" or "very scary"...those sound like sissy remarks to me...am I alone in this thought ?

What I found frightening was my total agreement with the posts preceding my post, regarding Pat Robertson. It is not often that I can find myself in total agreement with anyone, let alone conservatives, on a particular topic. Either I am becoming more conservative, or you are becoming more liberal. Eerie thought isnt it?

By the way PFFFT, a little misogynistic, arent we?

I find it odd, that with family values being a catch phrase of conservationism, and you being a conservative, that you would disparage a corner stone of the family, wives and mothers, by equating them with the liberals, you seem to hold in such contempt. Perhaps this explains their frustration?

STORY TIME

Joe is walking home and spots Bubba.
"Hey Bubba!" says Joe, "I gotta splittin headache".
Bubba looks at Joe and notices a hatchet handle protruding from Joe's skull.
"Does it feel like you have a hatchet in you skull?"
"No, nothing like that, but it sure hurts."
"Well, we'll gitcha down to Docs, and maybe he can fix you up".
So Bubba drives Joe down to the doctor's office.
Sitting on the examination bench, Joe says, "Doc, I have a splittin headache!"
And Doc says, "Well of course, somebody buried a hatchet in your head!"
Joe says, "What hatchet? Why does everyone tell me I gotta hatchet in my head?
I DON'T HAVE NO HATCHET IN MY HEAD! If I did, I would sure know about it!"
And with that, Joe stomps out and just happens to pass right by a big mirror.
Just about past the mirror Joe does a quick double take, and looks with astonishment! "Hey, there's a hatchet in my head! Doc, you gotta pull this hatchet out!"

FACT: Nobody knows so much about ones self as himself, or so he thinks.
