For those of you on the east coast it looks like spring may come afterall. I have been watching a flock of turkeys all winter. The lone tom has from 12 to 17 hens with him. Up until this weekend I had not seen a jake with the bunch and I take my binocs to check the turkeys out. Finally, Saturday morning I saw three jakes strutting their stuff and, of course, being ignored by the hens. The big tom is standing off to the side fully displayed and just standing there. What a sight. It really looks like spring will arrive finally. The turkeys are standing on about 2 feet of snow but hope springs eternal.
