I think i may have found a solution to sending the 06 back. I have a huntsman 50 cal/1`2 gauge combo,( that i honestly forgot i had) I know the reciever isnt strong enough , but arent the internal parts all the same?? I would consider stripping the guts out of the huntsman to make the 25-06 shoot. Or do you think it would just be best to lewt the"pros" at NEF deal with it?

Well, have em do a trigger job while it's there, unless it's already got a good one, if it's under 4lbs, I don't think they'll touch it, they didn't on mine at 3lbs 15oz. There is nothing in the action except the trigger pull and the latch spring that will effect accuracy.

All the problems are in the barrel bore, barrel fit into the action, hinge seat, latch seat engagement, forearm fit, underlug fit east and west and south and north. Not in that order or in the amount of items.

Man I am surprised that H&R considers 2.5" groups as adequate and normal.

I agree about the 2.5"@100yds as being unacceptable. And I'll suggest a trigger job too, but i didnt have a real problem with the trigger( Im guessing about 5 lbs. I also should have mentioned it before, but the gun tends to "pop" open after every 2 or 3 shots, I just thought it was the way it was vised, but after another call to the factory, thats not the case. The release button is very sloppy. Just for giggles and grins, I fitted the 25-06 barrel to the huntsman action ( just to check fit) and it was very crisp and clean, vert close fit, and just a whisker away from being too stiff to open. I guess I'll just hope the experts at the factory
can make it right.

The pop opens indicate a lock up issue which they will address, more than likely by changing the latch shelf a bit.
