Seems I read somewhere that stated Pyrodex loses some of its potency after as little as six months. Have any of you found this to be true? It would make sense to sight in with a fresh batch before hunting, but I was wondering how much it actually affects accuracy/velocity? Most of the loads I've made up but haven't used in a while are stored in plastic test tubes with rubber seals and are airtight.

I haven't heard anything about Pyrodex deteriorating with time!

I've got some pyrodex that is 3 years old now and it shoots right where it did when it was new!

Thanks; it sound like any deterioration is so minor no-one would know the difference.

I have Pyrodex that is over 10 years old and still shoots great!! Jack.
