I have a 14" 10mm barrel that shoots great, but the brass is almost impossible to remove by hand.  I can take another piece of brass and lock the rims together, but it is still difficult to pull out.  This is aggravating punching paper, but I wouldn't want to hunt with it this way.  Any suggestions?  This barrel was brand new w/o any marks whatsoever.  Never had any issues like this with any other barrels, this is new to me.

Bend your extractor down just a little. I had the same trouble with my 10 mm and a 223 barrel.

Don't think it is a pressure issue.  Have had a "sticky" 257jdj and this is different.   This was factory REM UMC which is basically 40 cal pressures.  Was shooting it just to get scope on paper.  The Black Talons and Hornady High Vel did the same thing.  This was supposed to be an unfired/unmounted barrel.  I'll give bending the extractor a try.

You may want to check your cases to see if any of them are bulged. I have a brand new 44 mag barrel on its way back to T/C for repair or hopefully replacement because the chamber is slightly oversized on one side and the cases bulge in that spot and are a bair to get out. Must have been a Monday barrel LOL good luck with yours

I had a similar issue with a .35 Remington.  The back side of the extractor was putting too much "bite" on the case.   In addition to bending the extractor a bit, I smoothed out the back edge of the extractor allowing the case body to more smoothly ride over it.  You can also flatten the spring too and it reduces the up force on the case.

Thanks for the input fellas!  I was able to steal away for a few hours yesterday and shoot the 10mm barrel again (with a 2x scope now).  I put a little pressure on the extractor and tried it again.  Worked great and shot pretty good with factory Hornady, Starfires, Black Talons,  Win Sivlertips.... under 1 1/2 inches at 50 yards with an occasional sub 1".   Sure is cheaper to shoot than my Glock 20.  Spent almost 2 hours shooting less than 60 rounds.   Next time will set up chrony w/ some handloads to see the true potentil of this barrel.

I have one of these also. I've never had any extraction problems. I just wanted to chime in and say that this one of the most accurate contender barrels I've ever owned.

You mentioned trying some handloads...

My barrel will shoot Hornady 200gr XTPs over 13.0gr of AA No.9 into one hole at 50yards all day long.  I am not exagerating in any way. it is surgically accurate with this load.

I use a 2x leupold scope.
